ABOUT US

Our Story

Celebrating Music, Art & Culture in Sunbury

From 1972 to 1974 Sunbury was host to Australia's most successful Pop / Rock Festival ever.

After Sunbury Pop / Rock Festival finished in 1975, Sunbury was left with a void. After one year had lapsed with no festival the Sunbury community festival "SunFest" (originally Sunbury Fair) first began in 1976 by a group of Sunbury volunteers.

The group of volunteers wanted to bring to Sunbury an old fashioned community fair free of charge to the people of Sunbury and its surrounds.  Since this first event the festival has grown to Sunbury's largest event run by volunteers.

With many thousands of people having attended out last couple of festivals, we will again offer great attractions that no other festival or show can offer in the Sunbury Region.

Attractions include amusement rides and carival games, The Grand Street Parade (on Saturday), FIREWORKS (Saturday evening), live local bands, roving entertainers, Kid's entertainment, Sunbury Battle of the School Choirs, and a lot more.

2025 will be the Sunbury Community Festival's 49th year in serving the Community by providing a free 2 day festival full of fun and entertainment for all ages. The Sunbury Community is well supported by local traders, businesses and the community.
